At Micron I have had the opportunity to learn about how the wafer fabrication process. There are so many committed teams of people that have to constantly communicate with each other, and problem solve to make sure this process can occur 24/7. Some of my favorite moments have been learning about the new automation processes that are being created to save workers time and make the wafer construction process more efficient. It has also been great to enjoy the wonderful on-site cafeteria and many other perks that Micron employees enjoy being part of such a large and successful company. When I return to my classroom this fall, I will have many stories to share with students and guest speakers I can invite to help students understanding the semiconductor and engineering world better.
