This summer, I had the wonderful chance to work at the Idaho Falls Zoo. My main mission this year has been supporting the educational department with their summer camps, building educational materials, and audits for signage. Data, a major focus for this summer, was used to create a new layout for the zoo’s newest habitat called Islands, which is opening very soon! Using this data will support the zoo and make the opening experience wonderful for all guests. Of course I also had the ability to work with several animals this summer, including working in the goat area and talking about the several animals that the zoo has created several conservation efforts for. I would highly recommend that everyone visits the zoo as soon as possible! I cannot wait to use the things I have learned this summer in my classroom.
