My time at the humane society was eye opening. I saw what happens behind the scenes and what it takes to shelter animals while they wait for their forever homes. Campers came each week and helped with animal care, animal enrichment and spent time with all the animals to ensure they weren’t lonely. Campers made art projects of the animals and made mazes for the guinea pigs to enjoy. I learned about cat behavior, dog behavior and how to care for a box turtle.
