Through the Idaho STEM Externship Program I partnered with Micron — engaging in Micron campus tours, contributing to the M‑Connect automated tour platform, and collaborating with the Micron Foundation’s People Department. These experiences enabled me to design hands-on, career-connected learning (e.g., CPU & RAM investigations, AI & ELA units, and informational essay projects) that provide students authentic insights into everyday technology use and tech careers. These immersive experiences led me to develop hands-on lessons for my 10th grade English students (yes — tech connects to ELA!) in a meaningful and deliberate way.

Beyond curriculum benefits, the externship fostered professional networks and practical knowledge educators can translate into classroom pathways — a direct investment in students’ future opportunities and Idaho’s talent pipeline.
