Treasure Valley i-STEM
June 26, 2018 - June 29, 2018
This year Treasure Valley i-STEM Institute (TViSTEM) will be June 26-29 at CWI. Over these four days, participants will attend workshop strands, participate in general sessions with keynote speakers and network with other STEM educators across the state. Participants will receive continuing education credits (see below) and leave with a kit of materials related to the strand workshop they attend, ready to implement what they have learned into their classrooms.
Want to attend TViSTEM? The application will be February 14th through March 3rd. This year’s process will not be first-come-first serve. Instead each participant will fill out an application and indicate which strand they would like to attend. Selection is based on the participant’s application. We encourage informal educators to attend i-STEM! Strands that are appropriate for informal educators are indicated with an asterisks (*).
Professional Development Credits (CEUs): Participants will receive one undergraduate professional development credit from the College of Southern Idaho for attending the i-STEM institute and signing up for the STEM AC Mentorship Portal. For an additional fee ($60) a graduate professional development credit will be available through Boise State University upon completion of the professional development assignment (TBD).
Travel: If the closest i-STEM institute is >50 miles, Idaho STEM AC will provide a $500 travel stipend for Idaho public and nonprofit formal and informal educators. Participants may use this stipend to attend any i-STEM institute.
